How to find your Steam trade URL (and make your inventory public)

2 min read

A Steam trade URL lets someone send you a trade offer without being on your friends list. Every trading site needs it to deliver items to you or ask for the items you sell. It takes about a minute to find.

Find your trade URL

  1. Open Steam (the app or steamcommunity.com) and sign in.
  2. Go to your Inventory and choose Trade Offers.
  3. Open Who can send me Trade Offers?
  4. Under Third-Party Sites, copy the link. It looks like https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=…&token=…

You can also go there directly: steamcommunity.com/my/tradeoffers/privacy.

Make your inventory public

To sell, your CS2 inventory must be visible. In Steam, open Edit Profile → Privacy Settings and set Inventory to Public. Nobody can take items from a public inventory: every trade still needs your approval.

Is it safe to share?

Yes. A trade URL only allows people to propose a trade. You still review and confirm every offer. If you ever want to stop offers from someone who has your link, press Create new URL on the same page: the old one stops working.

On SkinLab you'll be asked for your trade URL the first time you buy or sell. We check that it belongs to the Steam account you signed in with.
